We drove to Talladega National Forest in Alabama. We hiked for about 2 miles on the Pinhoti NRT Heflin Spur trail. The trail is in a Wildlife Management Area, is well kept, but not paved. It was an easy walk alongside a railroad track, and the path had a bit of an incline before we found ourselves walking alongside a small brook. Surprisingly, there weren't many mosquitos as no one got any bug bites. We saw some giant grasshoppers, dragon flies, birds, tadpoles, and thankfully, no snakes. The tall trees were also nice and provided welcomed shade.
We munched on these Korean puffed cereal snacks throughout the hike. They are only like 20 calories a piece and have no taste but do have a satisfying crunch and texture. Our youngest liked them so much that even when double fisting, he asked for a bite of mine. 🤣
